SLIDESHOW: Bowling Green community turns out for snow day
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Some of the community turned out on Wednesday to enjoy the snow in Bowling Green.
News 40 stopped by some popular spots when snow rolls in and found out how locals were making the most of the day. One of those stops included “Hospital Hill.”
One local says, “Actually, it’s my first time ever on Hospital Hill, and I’ve lived here my whole life. I feel like there’s a lot of stress around in the world, and I feel like some of us need a chance to detox. And I feel like sledding, it brings the community together. I mean, everybody’s here with their children or their couples or even by themselves, really. I like the rush of it when you’re coming down. And it’s fun to come out here and see all these other kids having fun. I think. I think it’s just going as fast as you can without hurting yourself. You know, just getting a little thrill out of it. Snow is very powdery today and it’s just fun crashing. It’s probably one of the better snows because of how like powdery it is and whenever you go over it, it’s all packed in. You got the risk of getting hurt and getting hurt is fun. Activities like sledding really bring a community together and you have the ability to kind of just have that childlike wonder again. Just be safe and have fun.”
