Louisville Orchestra

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Louisville Orchestra and Music Director Teddy Abrams are returning for this year’s “In Harmony Tour,” including a stop in the local area.

According to a release by the Louisville Orchestra, “The Commonwealth Tour of the Louisville Orchestra” is bringing its free concert through multiple Kentucky communities thanks to funding from the Kentucky State Legislature.

The 2025 In Harmony Tour will be split into three parts in April, July, and September.

During April, the guest artist will be Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper. The tour will also take place during the week of the Kentucky Derby with race-themed music, including Morton Feldman’s “Flourishes and Galop,” as well as a new concerto for pipa by current LO Creators Corps member Baldwin Giang, from April 26 through May 1. From July 8-13, the tour will be an American-themed celebration. Finally, September will be the first two-week stretch of touring with destinations in Kentucky’s Appalachian region, with Copland’s “Appalachian Spring” featured.

In addition, some of the tour’s previous destinations will be revisited (Prestonsburg, Ashland, Bardstown, Glasgow, Harlan, Beattyville and Campbellsville), with new ones added (Greenville, Hazard, Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill and Cumberland Falls State Resort Park)
