HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland has announced Martha Steil of Christian County as its latest member appointed to the Board of Directors.

According to a release by FAKH, Steil will serve in her role for the next six years, helping the organization to provide access to nutritious food throughout the region.

The release says Steil is the third member of the board from Christian County, representing the organization’s third largest community in their region.

Steil has been a Kentucky resident since 2003. She graduated from New York University with a bachelor’s of science degree in behavior and communication and received her masters degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Steil has worked for United Southern Bank since 2015 and currently serves as the human resources director. Before working with United Southern Bank, Martha held positions as human resources manager at Propulsys, Inc. and human resource generalist at Lourdes Hospital.

“Martha has a real passion for serving neighbors in her community, and is already connected with our monthly partnership with Aaron McNeil House that serves hundreds of Christian County residents,” said Charles Dennis, FAKH executive director. “We look forward to her time on the board and for the experience, compassion, and talent that she brings with her.”

Steil said she is excited to join the board and collectively work to strengthen our communities.

“I believe when I give myself to others, I am the one who is blessed,” she said, “I also believe that when we provide hope to our neighbors through meaningful service and support, we are strengthening our communities for the future.”
