2 rabbits lost, several animals saved during Elkton fire

ELKTON, Ky. (WEKT) – Two animals were lost while several others survived a fire Friday morning in Elkton.

WEKT reports a shed fire occurred on Blue and Gray Park Road in Elkton this morning.

They say Elkton Fire Department Chief James Calvery says units were able to save several chickens and ducks. However, Calvery says two rabbits died from the fire.

A neighbor found the shed on fire just after 6 a.m.

Elkton firefighters were assisted by Allegre and Sharon Grove Fire Departments, along with Todd County EMS and the Todd County Sheriff’s Office.
