Woman charged with 2nd DUI after crashing into vehicle with children inside

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One woman is facing multiple charges after a crash allegedly involving alcohol Thursday in Bowling Green.

In a uniform citation. Bowling Green police say they responded to Veterans Memorial Lane and New Bond Way around 8 p.m. for an injury collision.

Police say upon arrival, they made contact with the driver of the first vehicle, identified as Emonyae Holesome, 27, of Bowling Green.

According to police, Holesome stated she had rear-ended another vehicle.

Police say the other vehicle was on the other side of the intersection with severe damage. The vehicle was occupied by three children and a mother, who all complained of pain and received treatment by EMS, authorities say.

While speaking with Holesome, police say they could smell alcohol on her breath. Police say she stated she had not had anything to drink but showed bloodshot eyes and a slight slur of words.

Field sobriety tests were conducted, and Holesome was taken into custody and transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green. Following medical clearance, Holesome was transported to the Warren County Detention Center.

She is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, second offense.

Police say Holesome was arrested on a DUI offense previously in 2021.
