GLASGOW, Ky. – Two women are facing drug possession charges after a traffic stop in Glasgow.

Glasgow Police Department Public Information Officer Major Terry Flatt says an officer conducted a traffic safety stop on North Race Street on Tuesday.

An officer made contact with the driver, Wynter Austin, 42 of Glasgow. Austin gave consent to a vehicle search.

Officers say a baggie of suspected methamphetamine was located under the seat in the vehicle.

Austin and her passenger, Melinda Abner, 31 of Edmonton, both stated they did not know the substance was inside the vehicle.

Abner and Austin were taken into custody and are charged with improper start from a parked position and first-degree possession of a controlled substance first-offense (methamphetamine).

They are lodged at the Barren County Corrections Center.
