Bowling Green man flees KSP in Simpson County
FRANKLIN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man faces fleeing police, speeding charges in Simpson County.
Kentucky State Police Post 3 says it observed a vehicle speeding on I-65 southbound at the 9.8 mile marker on Wednesday. An officer initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle continued at a rate of speed over 90 miles per hour.
During the pursuit, the officer was able to overtake the vehicle. The vehicle then accelerated to a rate of speed of 86 miles per hour.
The pursuit ended when the officer was able to pull up alongside the vehicle and motioned to the driver to pull over.
The driver was identified as Patrick Kiruhura, 25 of Bowling Green.
Kiruhura had active warrants in Kentucky and Tennessee. Kiruhura has caution flags for violent tendencies and concealing deadly weapons.
Kiruhura is charged with speeding 23 miles per hour over the speed limit, first-degree fleeing or evading police, and no operator’s license.
Kiruhura is lodged at the Simpson County Detention Center.
