Kentucky circuit judge suspended in ongoing investigation into alleged misconduct
ADAIR COUNTY, CASEY COUNTY, Ky. – A circuit judge in Adair and Casey counties is currently suspended while an investigation into multiple misconduct allegations is underway.
Judge Judy Vance Murphy is accused of misconduct happening between August 2017 and July of 2024.
Court documents allege she leveraged her influence in handling a personal matter, as well as engaged inappropriately in discussions about ongoing cases.
Court documents also allege she used her phone from the bench during court proceedings for non-court related matters and requested a suspended attorney sign an affidavit stating the attorney did not view Murphy as vindictive.
Murphy acknowledges all of the alleged conduct to be true.
She is suspended without pay until Nov. 25.
