UPDATE: Robbery reported at American Bank and Trust in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Police Department is working a reported robbery at an American Bank and Trust Tuesday morning.

Police say the incident occurred Tuesday at the bank location at 1115 Fairview Avenue.

Bowling Green Police Department public information officer Ronnie Ward released the following statement:

“Just after 9:15, we received a robbery notice from the American Bank and Trust on Fairview Avenue. When officers arrived, they learned that a man had gone into the bank and, um, demanded money, the teller complied, and then the man left on foot. Right now, we’re working with detectives and officers and the bank to try to gather all of the information as far as what the suspect looked like, what he was wearing, uh, and also possibly a direction he has traveled. So we’re asking anyone if you have seen anything suspicious around 9:15 in that area, to contact the police department at 270-393-4000, and our detectives will be in the neighborhood gathering video information and witness statements as well, so the investigation will be continued the better part of today.”
