Wanted man arrested after pursuit involving stolen vehicle in Allen County
SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A man is facing charges after authorities say they pursued a stolen vehicle through Allen County on Saturday.
According to the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the 9000 block of Bowling Green Road regarding a stolen vehicle and trailer traveling toward Scottsville.
Deputies say the driver, identified as Justin Key, 34, of Westmoreland, Tennessee began to flee in the vehicle.
A vehicle pursuit began, where Key drove recklessly and nearly collided head on with multiple vehicles, authorities say.
Deputies say the vehicle left the road and struck a fence before stopping in a creek bed near the Holly Road and Old Gallatin Road intersection.
Key then fled on foot into the woods, authorities say.
Key was taken into custody by deputies and transported to the Allen County Detention Center.
Deputies say Key was wanted out of Tennessee for a second vehicle theft that had happened the same day in that state. Authorities say they recovered the second vehicle near where the pursuit began at the 9000 block of Bowling Green Road in Allen County.
Key is charged with failure to appear, theft by unlawful taking or disposition auto between $10,000 and $1,000,000, first-degree fleeing or evading police, third-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree criminal mischief, receiving stolen property between $1,000 and $10,000, second-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving and failure to or improper signal.
