Scottsville man charged with drug possession, resisting arrest

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A Scottsville man is facing multiple charges, including drug possession.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Office says it received a call around 1:54 p.m. Thursday about a male subject passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Highway and Bowling Green Road.
Deputies say task force detectives near the area responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, deputies say detectives observed a male subject, identified as Matthew Hafner, 19, of Scottsville, passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle.
Detectives put the vehicle in park and removed the keys from the ignition, authorities say.
Authorities say detectives tried multiple times to wake Hafner, who woke up and refused to exit the vehicle.
After multiple verbal commands, authorities say Hafner was physically removed and placed into custody.
The sheriff’s office says illegal narcotics were located in plain view in the vehicle.
Hafner was transported to the Allen County Detention Center.
He is charged with third-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), second-degree disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
