Perdue recalls frozen chicken nuggets for potential metal contamination
(CNN) – Perdue Foods is recalling more than 167,000 pounds of frozen chicken products over possible metal contamination.
The voluntary recall includes 22-ounce bags of Perdue and Butcherbox Organic Chicken Breast Nuggets and 29-ounce bags of Regular Chicken Breast Tenders.
A Perdue representative said a thin strand of metal wire was found during the manufacturing process.
According to the USDA, the products have a best-by-date of March 23.
They were shipped to several food retailers across the country and sold online.
So far, no adverse reactions have been reported.
