Friends of Butler County Animals to receive over $71,000 in funding
MORGANTOWN, Ky. – Friends of Butler County Animals is receiving funding to help them continue serving the community.
The money comes from the Mona Gilstrap Fund, which was part of a will, and it was left specifically for animal care, welfare and prevention of animal abuse.
Its over $71,000 that will go toward day-to-day operations. Staff stress this will NOT be used for their new building they are also working on. However, they’re still grateful to be receiving this massive donation.
“We’re very thrilled to receive this money… it’s going to help just with our day to day care of the animals and operations, so we’ll be using them for medications, microchips, vet care, you know, things like that,” Friends of Butler County Animals president Jeanie Locke says.
She also wants to thank judge executive Tim Flener and local magistrates for entrusting this fund to their organization.
They are still taking donations for the new building as well. You can help by going to Friends of Butler County Animals on Facebook.
