Paul Reynolds named new chief for Cave City Police Department

CAVE CITY, Ky. – He has a combined 21 years in law enforcement between Cave City Police and the Hart County Sheriff – now in the seat of chief, he is excited to continue to serve the citizens in a new way.

Chief Paul Reynolds has been sworn in as chief of the Cave City Police Department after eight years, with five of those being a narcotics detective and assistant chief. Prior to that, he spent 13 years as a K9 officer for the Hart County Sheriff’s Office.

Reynolds said it will be a bit of an adjustment, but he’s looking forward to the new role.

Reynolds said during an interview with News 40 that “Cave City just like any other old small town, one of the biggest problem is drugs.”

He told us that with Interstate 65 coming right through the town, around what he would surmise to be around 80% of drugs landing in Barren County come through Cave City.
