T.J. Health Pavilion expanding with additional floor
GLASGOW, Ky. – The T.J. Health Pavilion in Glasgow is getting more space with a third floor.
With this addition, the outpatient facility will improve access to care for patients and help meet an increasing need for services, according to Neil Thornbury, T.J. Regional Health’s CEO, on their website.
With more patients, health officials say more space is needed.
“We’ve seen greater than a 10% growth in our outpatient and provider services each year,” Thornbury says. “On any given day, we see about 1,000 patients at the facility.”
The project will cost roughly $6.8 million and will include the addition of new providers, health officials say. Thornbury says T.J. Regional Health received $2.1 million in federal Community Project Funding, along with $2 million from the state budget to help pay for the work.
T.J. Regional Health has rural health clinics serving communities across south-central Kentucky.
With the additional providers, health officials say this will allow them to rotate and serve those rural communities.
The health system is also looking to add providers to several existing specialties, including pulmonology, cardiology, orthopedics, behavioral health, oncology, urology and primary care, the website states.
Once the construction application process is finalized, construction on the facility is expected to be completed in about 12 months. Thornbury says they are hoping the expansion project will be finished in 2025.
