BOWLING GREEN, Ky – On Tuesday night, Jaycees-Bowling Green celebrated its 80th anniversary at the SOKY Fairgrounds.

The event began with proclamations from Todd Alcott and Warren County Judge-Executive Doug Gorman, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and catered dinner.

Jaycees President Korina Lee reflected on what the milestone means to both the organization and the community.

“For me personally, being a small part of such a major milestone really puts into perspective how much this organization matters to the community,” Lee said.

“Seeing all the accomplishments and all the people who have come through this organization shows that something that may seem small can actually have a really large impact,” she added.

Bowling Green District 4 Magistrate Rex McWhorter also spoke about the role the organization has played in the community over the years.

“It’s a wonderful organization, and I’d love to see more young people get involved,” McWhorter said. “It’s what got me involved in the community, and it’s one of the reasons I decided to run for magistrate.”

Leaders say the organization hopes to continue serving Warren County for many years to come through events such as the fair, the Christmas parade and other community projects.

“We want to continue the traditions we’ve already established while also finding new ways to help our neighbors and support the community,” Lee said.
