Wanted man arrested after police pursuit involving stolen vehicle from Bowling Green
CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. – A wanted man is facing charges after authorities say a truck stolen out of Bowling Green was involved in a pursuit.
The Christian County Sheriff’s Office says around 1 p.m. Wednesday, deputies were notified that Tennessee authorities were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle from the Nashville and Clarksville area.
The vehicle, a black Chevy Tahoe, would later be confirmed as stolen out of Bowling Green on July 30, according to authorities.
Deputies say the vehicle was reported to be heading westbound on Interstate 24 into Kentucky.
The sheriff’s office says it was also told the suspect driving the stolen vehicle may have a firearm.
After crossing into Christian County, Tennessee authorities stopped the pursuit, aside from a Nashville Metro Police Department helicopter that tracked the vehicle.
According to deputies, the vehicle exited I-24 at exit 89 before heading toward Pembroke.
The Christian County Sheriff’s Office and Pembroke police chief found the vehicle on Highway 115 toward Pembroke, authorities say. The vehicle then turned around and continued south.
Authorities say the pursuit passed through Pembroke Road onto Pruitt Lane, heading toward Bradshaw Road.
After several minutes, authorities say they stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver without incident.
The driver, identified as 27-year-old Dustin Duley of Springfield, Tennessee, was taken into custody.
He is charged with first-degree fleeing/evading (vehicle), receiving stolen property greater than $10,000 (auto) and fugitive from another state (active Tennessee warrants).
The sheriff’s office says Duley had been entered into the National Crime Information Center database on charges of violating a court order and aggravated assault out of Tennessee.
The vehicle was towed from the scene to be returned to its owner, authorities say.
