Man charged with fleeing police in Glasgow
GLASGOW, Ky. – A man is behind bars after a police pursuit involving a motorcycle on Saturday in Glasgow.
According to a uniform citation, the Glasgow Police Department responded around 4:16 p.m. Saturday to the 300 block of Lexington Drive regarding a male subject that had charges with the Barren County Sheriff’s Office.
Police say they were told the male had fled the residence on a motorcycle.
Police say they observed the male, identified as Matthew Runyon, 30, of Cave City, at the intersection of Lexington Drive and N L Rogers Wells Boulevard.
With police equipment activated, police say Runyon stopped for a moment before driving westbound.
Runyon continued through the intersection on Lexington Drive at a high speed before stopping, according to police.
He was arrested and transported to the Barren County Sheriff’s Office.
Runyon is charged with first-degree burglary, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, probation violation, theft by unlawful taking or disposition all others between $1,000 and $10,000, fleeing or evading police, second-degree (motor vehicle) and operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license.
