Down Syndrome of Southern Kentucky hosts car show fundraiser

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Down Syndrome of Southern Kentucky hosted a car show aimed at helping raise funds for the work they do in our community.

Drive Up for DSSKY featured vendors and food trucks, as well as the Scoops of Joy ice cream truck.

Shelly Rogers was also on hand to sign her new cookbook, “Where Angels Have Walked.”

For staff at the Buddy House, this is just one of many fundraisers they have throughout the year, but one of the biggest things they can ask you for has no monetary value to it.

“The events like this are to provide the programing and support that we do for our families at no charge… you can volunteer… do you wish list donations, money, but the biggest thing you can do is volunteer your time. It makes a difference in the community,” Stephanie Morton with DSSKY says.

She also mentions while events like Raise the Roof featuring Tim Tebow back in June are able to provide funding for a new Buddy House, it’s things like these that really help them provide for their buddies each and every day.
