Louisville man arrested after allegedly planning to sell fake narcotics

CAVE CITY, Ky. – A Louisville man is facing multiple charges related to drug trafficking in Cave City.
According to a uniform citation, around 9:36 a.m. Monday, the Cave City Police Department conducted a stop on a Chevy Malibu on South Dixie Highway in Cave City.
Upon contact, police say they detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
After speaking to the driver, police say the passenger falsely identified himself. He was later identified as Michael Stumler, 34, of Louisville.
According to police, Stumler had an active parole warrant.
After a vehicle search, police say they located suspected marijuana, suspected methamphetamine, a small amount of cash, a bag of epsom salt and a crystal-like substance officers at first believed to be methamphetamine.
Stumler stated he had come from Louisville to sell “fake meth” to someone as real methamphetamine, police say. He also stated two small bags contained methamphetamine.
Stumler was arrested and transported to the Barren County Detention Center.
He is charged with failure to wear seat belts, theft of identity without consent, possession of marijuana, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (less than 2 grams of methamphetamine), sell/transfer simulated controlled substance, first offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
