NEW DETAILS: Logan County man charged with trafficking fentanyl
LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – A Logan County man is facing charges on fentanyl trafficking charges.
According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police DESI West executed a search warrant Wednesday at 4:15 p.m. at the 1100 block of Proctor Mill Road after a drug investigation.
Upon arrival, troopers say they gave verbal commands for the occupants to exit the residence. Troopers breached the residence and located Timothy Smotherman, 20, of Auburn flushing evidence in a bathroom. Fentanyl pills were located in a section of the toilet, authorities say.
Troopers say they also located a woman in the kitchen area.
According to a release by the Warren County Drug Task Force, authorities found over 2,000 suspected M-30 fentanyl pills, over 10 pounds of suspected marijuana, a money counter, a vacuum bag sealer, two firearms near the fentanyl and $23,713 in cash.
Smotherman was arrested and is charged with aggravated trafficking in a controlled substance (greater than or equal to 28 grams of fentanyl) (enhancement), trafficking in marijuana (greater than 5 pounds), first offense (enhancement) and tampering with physical evidence.
Smotherman was transported to the Logan County Detention Center.
