Wanted Beattyville man arrested in Scottsville

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A Beattyville man is facing drug possession charges.

The Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force, along with the Scottsville Police Department and Allen County Sheriff’s Department, received a tip on the location of a wanted man in Scottsville on Tuesday.

Officers responded to the tip at 120 East Oak Street. At the residence, they located William Johnson, 44 of Beattyville. Johnson had a felony warrant of arrest for a parole violation. Officers placed Johnson under arrest.

Officers say Johnson had illegal narcotics, consistent with possession and trafficking.

Johnson is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st-degree, 2nd or > – (> or = 2gms methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, persistent felony offender 1, and possession of controlled substance 1st-degree 1st-offense (drug unspecified).

Johnson is lodged at the Allen County Detention Center.
