Bowling Green man charged with robbery, strangulation

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is facing charges in an alleged robbery over the weekend.

In a uniform citation, police say 26-year-old Antwan Gilbert turned himself in Sunday for an incident that occurred the day prior.

On Saturday, June 23, a report states police responded for a delayed burglary at the 2200 block of Hickory Street. When the victim returned home that morning, police say she stated she found trash thrown across the living room with bleach poured over her clothes.

The victim says she ran out and saw Gilbert leaving in a vehicle at this time, police say.

Police say the victim additionally told them Gilbert later returned and strangled her and took her phone. Police attempted to find Gilbert that night, but he was not located.

Gilbert was arrested Sunday and remains at the Warren County Detention Center.

He faces charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree burglary, first-degree strangulation, theft by unlawful taking or disposition all others between $500 and $1,000, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and third-degree criminal mischief.
