Cave City, Munfordville police arrest man following motorcycle pursuit on I-65

MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. – The Munfordville Police Department made an arrest following a vehicle pursuit on Thursday evening.

Cave City police requested assistance from Munfordville police regarding a vehicle pursuit traveling northbound on I-65.

A Munfordville police officer observed Cave City police pursuing the vehicle, a 2005 Honda VT1100 motorcycle. The officer followed the vehicle north for 20 minutes before turning onto exit 81.

The officer says the motorcycle operator would cut off his police vehicle and almost strike the vehicle. The officer observed the vehicle attempting this to two other police vehicles, with an attempt to force the officer vehicles off the roadway. The vehicle operator recklessly passed vehicles and changed lanes without notice.

The vehicle traveled through Sonora before coming to a stop approximately two miles north of Sonora.

According to the citation, officers arrested Steven Wayne Kolley, 33. Police say Kolley possessed two syringes and methamphetamine in his jacket.

Kolley was operating with a DUI-suspended license.

Kolley is charged with wanton endangerment-1st degree-police officer, possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 2nd offense (methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, fleeing or evading police, 1st degree (motor vehicle), driving DUI suspended license – 1st offense (agg circum), and reckless driving.

Kolley is lodged at the Hart County Jail.
