Man charged after report of domestic violence incident on I-65 in Simpson County

SIMPSON COUNTY, Ky. – A man is facing domestic violence-related charges in Simpson County.

According to a release by the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched Tuesday to Interstate 65 southbound for a report of a male passenger beating a female driver.

Deputies say the female was reportedly swerving in and out of traffic, almost causing multiple collisions.

When law enforcement spotted the vehicle at Exit 6, they say they observed the male raise his fist to hit the driver again. The vehicle was stopped, and 26-year-old Cody Snider was detained.

The release states the driver had marks around her nose and right eye and redness around her neck, along with bite marks on her arm.

The sheriff’s office says it learned Snider also had burned the female’s legs with a cigarette lighter and extinguished a cigarette in her ear. EMS transported her to The Medical Center at Franklin.

Snider was arrested and transported to the Simpson County Detention Center.

Snider faces charges of first-degree assault – domestic violence, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence, first-degree strangulation, menacing and failure to wear a seatbelt.

The Simpson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Franklin Police Department and EMS.
