Grayson County man arrested on drug charges, allegedly ingested 2 grams of meth

LEITCHFIELD, Ky. – Law enforcement says a Grayson County man ingested a large amount of suspected methamphetamine after a traffic stop.
According to a uniform citation, a detective with the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force conducted a traffic stop at Dollar General at 6350 Anneta Road on Wednesday morning.
The detective says the driver, 44-year-old Charles A. Clemons, possessed over 6 grams of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana.
A search warrant was obtained for Clemons’ property on Bloomington Road. Detectives say they located “scales, baggies, marijuana, and other items consistent with the trafficking of narcotics,” according to the citation.
The citation states that when Clemons was at the Leitchfield Police Department for an interview, he “began sweating profusely, spitting on the floor and shaking.”
Clemons told officers he had ingested 2 grams of methamphetamine before EMS arrival. He was transported for medical treatment.
Clemons is charged with trafficking in and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), tampering with physical evidence, driving on a suspended/revoked operator’s license, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to surrender a revoked operator’s license. He was lodged at the Grayson County Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
