Civic Imagination Living Lab at WKU Innovation Campus planning for the future

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – It was inspired by BG 2050 and now citizens of Bowling Green and Warren County are getting a chance to have their voices heard.

At Western Kentucky University’s Innovation Campus, the community is being invited out on Thursday and Friday to chime in on how they envision Bowling Green in the future. It’s called at Civic Imagination Living Lab and it’s meant to encourage “open innovation” and bring together everyone to brainstorm.

Buddy Steen, CEO of the innovation campus, told News 40 that whether you like it or not, Bowling Green is basically North Nashville and, “We’re witnessing an economic supernova like no one’s anticipated just south of us.” He said we want change to happen for Bowling Green, not to it.

The lab will take go from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday to allow everyone a chance to get out. Organizers say there will be experts Zooming in from various places in the world as well as local officials popping in to participate as well.
