Kentucky man charged with child sexual abuse material offenses

VERSAILLES, Ky. – A Kentucky man is facing charges related to child sexual abuse material.
The Kentucky State Police says it arrested 43-year-old Chad A. Swiger on Thursday, June 6 as a result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation.
Troopers say the investigation began after it was discovered Swiger shared images of child sexual exploitation online.
As a result, KSP says it searched a residence in Versailles, Kentucky and located equipment used in the alleged crimes, which will be further examined by law enforcement.
Swiger is charged with 20 counts of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under 12 years old and 10 counts of possession of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under 12 years old. These charges are Class-C felonies punishable by five to 10 years in prison.
Swiger was lodged in the Woodford County Detention Center.
