Duncan Hines Duck Paddle relocated to Romanza Johnson Park

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Better a change of venue than a cancellation!

The Duncan Hines Days Duck Paddle & Regatta has been relocated to Romanza Johnson Park due to fast moving water. Typically, the race and casual float would take place near downtown Bowling Green utilizing the Barren River for the event, but the river is flowing a little fast due to all the recent rainfall.

Duncan Hines event coordinator Andrea Strange told News 40 that just for safety concerns, they’ll be using the small Trammel and Drakes Creeks.

Strange said in her interview that the day on the water connects the residents of Bowling Green and Warren County with the water in a way that some might not feel is possible due to different barriers, so naturally, the event staff wanted to find a way to save it.

Strange also told us that the park is currently under some construction, awaiting a big facelift. The hope is to have construction done in late summer or early fall, followed by a grand re-opening of the park this year.

Though construction is ongoing, Strange said she hopes to have the ramp ready for the big day. You can register for the Duck Paddle at http://duncanhinesdays.com.
