Hot Rods Alter Ego Debuts on Friday Night
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Hot Rods are on a homestand through Sunday, but one thing you can only see in tonight’s game, and just twice this year, is the team’s alter ego, the Bowling Green Cavemen.
The special edition name and uniform will hit the field at Bowling Green Ballpark against the Wilmington Blue Rocks, but before the team dons their new apparel, General Manager Kyle Wolz shares the inspiration behind the identity.
“We came up with the idea to pay tribute to the natural wonders in the state of Kentucky with the large cave systems around here, with the world’s largest one 20 miles up the road, Lost River Cave here,” Wolz said. “When we created this identity, we wanted to have some fun with it, so with the jerseys, you’ll see the stalactites and stalagmites, as well as our own version of what a caveman should look like.”
