UPDATE: Glasgow police arrest suspect in shooting, juvenile hospitalized

GLASGOW, Ky. – One man is facing charges in relation to a reported shooting Friday night in Glasgow, Kentucky.

According to a release by Glasgow police, officers responded Friday around 8:10 p.m. to McKenna Street in reference to a shooting incident.

Police say officers determined 20-year-old Christopher Rye of Glasgow was in a verbal altercation with a juvenile that resulted in Rye brandishing a firearm and firing it multiple times in the direction of the juvenile and other people.

According to police, the juvenile was struck in the abdomen and treated by Barren/Metcalfe EMS. He was later transported to the University of Louisville Hospital and was last listed in critical condition, police say.

Rye was arrested and is charged with first-degree assault and three counts of wanton endangerment.

He remains at the Barren County Detention Center.
