Representative Michael Meredith wins primary, talks new I-165 project

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One of the races in the 2024 primary involved current State Representative Michael Meredith, who defeated challenger Kelcey Rock.

Meredith says he’s grateful to the voters for trusting him.

He also mentioned a new project he’s collaborating with Warren County Judge Executive Doug Gorman on.

This would extend I-165 to the northwest part of Warren County near the Kentucky Transpark.

The hope is that it would give easier access to the western parts of the state to those near Richardsville or Hadley.

“Open up… the Richardsville area, Hadley areas so that there’s a little bit more egress there for them, and better travel patterns. That design has been funded in the budget, but we still need to get obviously right away funds, utility movement funds and construction funds for that project. That’s a big project… it’s a priority for both myself and Judge Gorman,” Meredith says.

He also addressed the situation with the Edmonson County Water District, who have been dealing with a lack of clean water recently.

He is hoping to collaborate with different counties and organizations to help alleviate some of these problems.

He also says more federal funding is still needed to address those issues.
