Bowling Green Police Officer Serves on the Foul Lines
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Here at News 40, we’ve been sure to keep you updated on all the action out on the diamond, whether it’s high school, college, or professional, but Tuesday night on the little league diamond, one coach was in a different uniform.
Josh Yoebstl, Bowling Green Police Officer, also serves as head coach for his nephew’s little league team, going on 3 years now, and for games where he’s on the clock, Yoebstl is able to take a lunch and help lead his team in full uniform.
As someone who grew up playing both baseball and football, Yoebstl takes pride in being a leader to the young kids on the diamond,
and he also shares that his team enjoys having him as a coach.
“They enjoy it a lot, especially when I’m in uniform and they’ll hear a hot call come out and I’ll come back and they’ll be like, ‘Oh my goodness, where’d you go coach? What happened? What happened? You take somebody to jail?’ so it’s very entertaining for them,” Yoebstl said. “I enjoy it. I just, you know, I try to coach to the best of my ability and teach them life lessons and kind of stay positive about everything.”
