Christian County man wins $90K on Kentucky Lottery scratch-off ticket

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. – A Crofton, Kentucky man is celebrating a $90,000 win after taking a chance on a feeling.
According to the Kentucky Lottery, the man, who wishes to remain anonymous, stopped by a Huck’s on South Madisonville Road in Crofton, where he purchased the $5 ticket.
“Something told me to hit the machine,” the man said.
It turns out his hunch was correct.
After buying the Kentucky Lottery’s Gold Mine 9X Scratch-off, the man discovered a $15,000 prize next to two gold bar symbols, multiplying his prize to equal the game’s $90,000 top prize.
The man told lottery officials he walked out of the store, then took a deep breath and called his friend.
“It still hasn’t sunk in,” he said.
The man and his friend travelled to lottery headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky earlier this month to claim his prize.
After taxes, the Crofton man walked away with a check for $64,800. He plans to use some of the winnings to help his friend start a business.
Huck’s will receive $900 for selling the winning ticket.
