National Police Week continues through May 18
This week is National Police Week, a time for us to recognize and remember those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
In 2024, the names of the 282 law officers killed in the line of duty were added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office states 118 of those officers were killed in 2023 alone.
The rest include officers who have passed in the past and their stories of sacrifice had been lost to history until today.
The National Memorial in Kentucky is currently home to 24,067 officer names. Police week continues through Saturday, May 18.
