Reed signs UDFA deal with Chicago Bears

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A former WKU quarterback has found his next destination in the pros.

On Saturday, Austin Reed signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Chicago Bears.

After transferring to WKU in 2022, Reed started all 26 games he appeared in, passing for 8,084 yards and 71 touchdowns on 678-of-1073 passing with 22 interceptions.

Reed’s resume from his time on the hill is impressive, including selections as 2022 Conference USA Newcomer of the Year and 2023 Conference USA All-Academic Team.

WKU Football won the 2022 New Orleans Bowl and 2023 Famous Toastery Bowl during Reed’s WKU career.
