Local 6-year-old gets over 300 orders of cookies to fund heart surgery

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One local family is baking up a storm.

What started with a Facebook post led to hundreds of comments and orders, all for cookies baked by 6-year-old Paislee Howard.

The 6-year-old recently found out that she needs open heart surgery next month, and to help with hospital expenses, she is taking orders and baking cookies.

Each order is for a dozen cookies, starting at $10.

In the latest update, her mother, Alyssa Howard, says they will be working on 100 orders on Friday night. Previously, the family was already taking around 300 orders and delivering over 40 dozen cookies in the area.
