Tops close out regular season at Mountaineer Invitational

BRIDGEPORT, W.V. — The WKU Men’s Golf Team will travel to West Virginia to compete in the Mountaineer Invitational, hosted by West Virginia. The Tops will be competing against the likes of St. John’s, Xavier, and Oral Roberts. This tourney will be the conclusion of the regular season before they take on the CUSA Tourney.

Following a runner-up finish in the Irish Creek Intercollegiate, the Red and White will be looking to finish the regular season strong as this is the final tournament before the CUSA Tournament. The Tops will be competing at The Pete Dye Golf Course. The course is par-72 and spans 7,308 yards.
On the card for the Tops, Luke Fuller is looking to close out his regular season strong for the Red and White. Fuller is coming off of a top-five finish in Kannapolis as he tied for fourth. Fuller is looking to carry his momentum into this tournament and into the conference tourney.
Continuing his stellar play this spring, Gage Doyle is next on the card for WKU. Doyle turned in a top-25 finish in Kannapolis. The freshman earned a 215 total score and will continue to be a key contributor going into Bridgeport.
Nic Hofman rebounded in a big way for the Tops, coming off of a top-15 finish where he tied for 11th. The redshirt junior turned in a 211 in the Tops last tourney and is looking to continue his great play tomorrow.
Stephen Warren is up next for the Red and White. Warren tied for 23rd in Kannapolis after scoring a 215.
Rounding things out for WKU is senior Connery Meyer. Meyer finished right outside of the top-30 in WKU’s last tournament . He will be looking to rebound in this tournament and earn his third finish in the top-30 this year.
Round one for the Tops is slated for an 8:30 A.M. tee time on Monday.
