Bowling Green man charged after large drug bust at residence

 

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – An ongoing investigation led to a massive drug bust Thursday in Bowling Green.

The Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force says it observed Robert K. Mathewson, 37, of Bowling Green leaving his residence on Devin Close Court before he was stopped for multiple traffic violations.

According to authorities, a Bowling Green Police Department K-9 was deployed and gave a positive alert on the vehicle, where they found high potency marijuana vape pens  and two jars of high potency THC marijuana butter.

Prior to a search at his residence, authorities say Mathewson became disorderly and was arrested.

The drug task force says within the residence,  it located 21 pounds of high-grade marijauana, 58.1 grams of cocaine, 2.5 pounds of hallucinogenic mushrooms, 19 THC marijuana vape cartridges, 7 pounds of high potency marijuana butter, 1.5 pounds of marijuana wax, 93 grams of marijuana rocks, a money counter, $6,317 in cash and a 2018 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Mathewson is charged with trafficking in marijuana over 5 pounds, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine), second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (hallucinogen mushrooms) and disorderly conduct.

Mathewson was transported to the Warren County Detention Center pending arraignment in Warren District Court.
