Women’s Fund to award record-breaking Impact grants
The Women’s Fund of South Central Kentucky announced Thursday night its largest grant award in the organization’s six-year history.
On Oct. 23, the organization comprised of 418 women will award $126,500 to area nonprofits during its annual Impact Award dinner.
"The Women’s Fund of South Central Kentucky has brought this opportunity to our area,” said Jennifer Wethington, executive director of the Community Foundation, the umbrella organization for the fund. “By giving collectively it will allow an Impact Grant to be given each year and endowment to be built as a legacy.”
The Women’s Fund endowment has grown in six years to $750,000.
Requests for proposals will be sent out Friday with submission deadlines. Once the committee has narrowed the field to four finalists, all four will present their final pitches at the October dinner during which time the members will vote.
The top grant award is $110,000. The three finalists will receive $5,500 in grant funding.
“The Women’s Fund aims to provide high-impact grants that fulfill unmet needs or increase services to under-served populations,” Wethington said.” It will also help raise the profile of deserving nonprofit organizations while highlighting the philanthropic needs in our region.”
