Man charged after truck thefts in Barren County

CAVE CITY, Ky. – A man was arrested by Cave City police Monday after two trucks were reported stolen.
Police say they responded to Northside Estates subdivision for a stolen Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck over the weekend. A stolen service truck was also reported at CCC Contracting on March 14, police say.
After an investigation, police say they identified the suspect as Charles Ethan Clay, 32, and reviewed surveillance footage.
Clay was seen running from a residence, police say, before they deployed a K-9 and tracked the suspect to where he was hiding on Walnut Street under a tractor trailer.
Clay was arrested and remains at the Barren County Detention Center. Both stolen vehicles were returned to their owners, according to police.
Clay faces theft by unlawful taking or disposition auto between $1,000 and $10,000, theft by unlawful taking or disposition auto between $10,000 and $1,000,000, two counts of failure to appear, theft by unlawful taking or disposition all others between $10,000 and $1,000,000, first-degree criminal mischief and theft by unlawful taking or disposition auto between $10,000 and $1,000,000.
