Lutz

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU head men’s basketball coach Steve Lutz has been named one of 20 finalists for the Skip Prosser Man of the Year Award for 2023-24, as announced by the group on Tuesday.

The Skip Prosser Award honors those who not only achieve success on the basketball court, but who display moral integrity on and off it as well. The announcement marks the second-straight year Lutz has been named a finalist for the award.

Lutz led the Hilltoppers (22-11, 8-8 CUSA) to the 2024 CUSA Tournament Championship title and an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2013 after WKU defeated UTEP, 78-71, on March 16. Lutz makes a third-consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament as a head coach after two trips with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in 2022 and 2023. No. 15-seeded WKU will face No. 2 seed Marquette on Friday, March 22 at 1 p.m. CT in Indianapolis.

The recipients of the annual awards are determined by a 10-member voting committee, which consists of current and former head coaches, as well as two senior staff members of CollegeInsider.com. The winners of the 2024 awards will be announced in Phoenix, the site of the men’s Final Four.
