WKU to play Marquette in first round of NCAA Tournament

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Men’s Basketball is heading to Indianapolis to begin NCAA Tournament play.

The Hilltoppers will play in the South Region as a fifteen-seed. WKU last played in the NCAA Tournament in 2013.

The program captured its first Conference USA Championship in Huntsville on Saturday to punch a ticket to the NCAA Tournament. WKU claimed double digit wins over New Mexico State and MTSU in the first two rounds of the tournament. The Tops tournament run concluded with a 78-71 victory over UTEP in the championship game.

WKU (8-8, 22-11) will matchup against the two-seed Marquette Golden Eagles (14-6, 25-9) on Friday.

Marquette finished the regular season in first place in the Big East. The Golden Eagles fell short to UCONN in the Big East Championship game on Saturday.

The game is scheduled for 1pm.
