WKU punches ticket to the NCAA Tournament

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Toppers are going to the NCAA Tournament.

WKU Men’s Basketball captured its first Conference USA Championship Saturday with a 78-71 win over UTEP in Head Coach Steve Lutz’s first season.

Junior guard Don McHenry lead the way with 25 points. Junior Babacar Faye anchored the defense with 10 rebounds, 3 blocks and 3 steals.

WKU is now 22-11 this season.

The Tops first NCAA Tournament matchup will be announced on the CBS March Madness Selection Show on Sunday at 5pm on WNKY CBS 40.
