UPDATE: Further details released on Veterans Memorial safety improvement project
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Improvements are coming soon to a busy Bowling Green intersection.
On Thursday during his Team Kentucky Update, Gov. Andy Beshear announced the City of Bowling Green will receive $11 million to improve safety for pedestrians and traffic along Veterans Memorial. The improvements will include a roundabout, wider sidewalks and safer pedestrian crossing areas.
The intersection benefitting from the funding will be located at Victoria Street and Veterans Memorial Lane.
“This project will greatly enhance the neighborhoods in this area and make it easier for families to access a park and an elementary school that is on the other side of a busy roadway,” Beshear says.
News 40 will continue to share more information as it becomes available.
