WKU community celebrates life of Kinsley Demontigny
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Western Kentucky University community is mourning the loss of one of their own, but celebrating her life at the same time.
Kinsley Demontigny passed away in a car accident the night of March 5th, following a head-on collision on I-165 where a woman was driving the wrong way on the interstate. The WKU community gathered to remember her on Wednesday.
The celebration lasted all day and included food trucks, a flag making station and some of Kinsley’s family and friends reminiscing about the life she lived.
News 40 was able to speak with one of Kinsley’s friends, who also organized the celebration.
Griffin Shirley of Rollax Creamery says he’s one of Kinsley’s friends and she meant a lot to him.
“Kinsley was always the one that I could sit down and talk to. She would always turn your day around in a good way. She was always that person that everybody never knew they needed. So we became really close through work and a mutual friend of ours, and since then we just kind of stuck together,” he says.
Shirley also says putting on an event like this is something Kinsley would’ve done. He says she was spontaneous and wanted to be a good friend to everyone.
