Hilltoppers enter CUSA Championship as no. 3 seed, set to face NM State

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU men’s basketball (19-11, 8-8 CUSA) enters the 2024 Conference USA Men’s Basketball Championship as the No. 3 overall seed in the tournament and will face No. 6-seeded New Mexico State (13-18, 7-9 CUSA) on Thursday, March 14 at 8 p.m. CT. Tournament competition will take place at VBC Propst Arena in Huntsville, Ala. from March 12-16.
WKU split in its series against the Aggies in 2023-24, falling short on the road, 72-70, on Jan. 18, and securing a 72-58 win at home on Feb. 17. The Hilltoppers closed regular-season competition with a narrow 82-79 loss at Liberty on Saturday.
The event in Huntsville marks the first of a multi-year agreement for CUSA at VBC Propst Arena. The tournament will feature all nine teams and begins with a first-round game at 8 p.m. CT on Tuesday between No. 8 seed Jax State and No. 9 seed FIU. The CUSA tournament semifinals will take place at 11:30 a.m. CT and 2 p.m. CT on Friday, March 15, and the championship final will tip at 7:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, March 16. First-round and quarterfinal games will stream live on ESPN+, and the semifinals and championship final will broadcast live on CBS Sports Network.
