Man arrested in attempted sexual abuse investigation in Metcalfe County

EDMONTON, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police has arrested a man in an ongoing attempted sexual abuse investigation in Metcalfe County.

Troopers say they arrested Richard Cecil Armstrong, 23, of Cave City on Wednesday after discovering he attempted to engage in inappropriate physical contact with a juvenile.

KSP and the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office were able to track him down and arrest him on Thursday.

In addition to his third-degree rape charge, Armstrong is now also being charged with fleeing police on foot, wanton endangerment, criminal mischief and giving a false I.D.

He is being held in the Barren County Detention Center on at least a $25,000 cash bond while the investigation is still ongoing.
