Glasgow Police Department performing safety checkpoints this month
GLASGOW, Ky. – In the interest of public safety, the Glasgow Police Department will be out this month making some routine stops around the community.
News 40 spoke to major Terry Flatt with the department, who told us that the point isn’t to ticket the citizenry but to inform motorists that they might have something they need to take care of or make their vehicle unsafe.
Flatt said of course stopping multiple vehicles in the evening hours can and has led to DUI arrests and possession charges, but checkpoints are an effort to keep the streets safe ahead of a potential accident.
