The Kentucky Transportation Department warns drivers to watch out for deer
The Kentucky Transportation Department is now warning drivers to be cautious on the roads, as deer become more active over the next few months.
A statement from the agency says, that the commonwealth ranks 15th in the nation for vehicle crashes involving deer. Most collisions are reported in the months of October, November, and December. Officials say drivers should use caution at all times, especially twilight hours when deer are most active.
According to the statement, there were 32 hundred vehicle collisions involving deer in Kentucky last year.
Drivers are asked to report all collisions to police for data collection and monitoring.
